Details:
Formed in Singapore and performing weekly since 1997, the New Vintage blues Band is the longest running blues band in the island-state.

The crowds are typically composed of Americans, Europeans and Australians, as well as local blues enthusiasts. Venues where the band has performed over the years include: the Crazy Elephant, the Voodoo Shack, the Hard Rock Café, Bernie''s, the Red Octopus, the Psychedelic Bar, Fat Daddy''s and others.

Critics have favorably rated New Vintage as a world-class blues band, appealing to the international blues aficionados that visit and live in this global crossroads. Comments such as "We don''t have real blues bands like this anymore in the States" and "This takes us back to the excitement of the early days in the British blues scene of John Mayall and Eric Clapton" are common from visiting Americans and Brits.

All the band members are Singaporean citizens or long-time residents. Dennis Dalton, an American, is the band leader and started the band with his son James, who since moved to the States. Dalton grew up in New Orleans and later lived in Memphis for many years as well as in Europe, before settling in Singapore. He learned to play guitar by ear at the age of 9. He plays rhythm guitar and is the band''s lead vocalist.

Chris Ong is the band''s lead guitar player. Prior to joining New Vintage, he performed with one of Singapore''s leading rock bands, for over 10 years. He teamed up with New Vintage to realize his desire to play more blues. He grew up in Singapore listening to British blues musicians, like Peter Green, John Mayall, and Eric Clapton, who were the dominant blues influence in Singapore in the early years.

Bass player Dick Roark is originally from Houston, Texas. He grew up going to blues pubs to listen to the then up-and-coming blues performers like Freddie King, Albert Collins, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and the Vaughan Brothers.

John Silva is the band''s drummer and second vocalist. He has been an integral part of the Singapore blues scene for the past two decades and has been a real blues fan since birth, starting to do his first drumming on his empty pamper boxes.

Keyboard player Phil Jump grew up in London where he played blues for years (including with ex-members of King Crimson) prior to moving to Singapore.

Don''t miss this anthology of the blues, offered by the New Vintage Blues Band.
