The Album Anthem # 44
“I Still Believe That We Can”

Anthem # 44 is the title of the CD album written by James Amadeus AKA O2 a musician from Rocky Mount North Carolina. Anthem # 44 is the subtitle to the actual song entitled “I Still Believe That We Can”. The title of the CD album was chosen to highlight the significant and historic event that took place on January 20th 2009. The fifty-sixth inauguration of the first black president, President Barack H. Obama became our first African American Commander in Chief. Anthem # 44 “I Still Believe That We Can” is a spiritual hymn that reinforces the purpose of the composition which is a song of healing. It is also significant due to the subtitle name Anthem # 44. That name denotes the election of our 44th president and the historic moment in the annals of history.

The outer surface image of the CD album is a picture of the actual James River taken by the artist.
The gold cuff and chain seen at the lower end of the CD album symbolically represents the settling of the issue of slavery and also the thought of when something has been tried with fire and comes out as pure gold. The words that stagger on the surface of the image depict the short chronological dates of the history of blacks in America. The first date is 1619 when the first blacks were brought to Virginia. The second date is 1865 when President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. The third date is Dr Martin Luther King’s speech “I Have a Dream”. The last date is 2009 the Anthem # 44 “I Still Believe That We Can”. This composition or song is a prologue to the message “Change and Why” delivered to three entities, the Commander and Chief, the US House of Representatives, and the People of this Great Nation.

The CD will be released this month Black History 2009. More to come……
