Voice of Atlanta, "VOA", is a professional choir consisting of musical artists who are united as one for the arts. VOA was created in 1997 by singer, songwriter and producer Adam McKnight, in memory of a dear friend, fellow artist and business partner; the late, great Mr. MacClendon Brown.
Brown, fondly remembered as Mac, was an accomplished singer, commercial artist and well-respected instructor at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Expecting nothing less than the best from his students and giving the same of himself, Mac lent his talents to his church choir, the gospel group Liege'' and along with Adam McKnight and Charles Bullock, was co-founder of one of the most versatile vocal groups in the Atlanta metropolitan area, MISTYQUE VocalsEase.
In an effort to continue and applaud Mac''s work, Voice of Atlanta was formed. From the onset, VOA --under McKnight''s capable leadership-- has soundly promoted the arts and its importance and availability to youth in schools and congregations everywhere.
Comprised of some of the Atlanta area''s most talented, dedicated and versatile, vocalists and musicians; VOA strives to nurture its members, through music, fellowship and understanding. Promoting positive attitudes of encouragement & supportiveness, VOA always seems to "Give from the Heart".
This euphonic ensemble has wowed corporate audiences from coast to coast, with their genuine vocal recording delivery and their heart-felt live performances. Adam McKnight & VOA have performed live before mass audiences of over 40,000. Whether it is a large corporate musical finale for Starlight International; an uplifting, soul-stirring, dancing in the isles, National Youth conference for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America; or even a fun in the sun 4th of July Celebration at Lenox Square; Adam & VOA tend to Bridge the Generations.
As a footnote to Voice of Atlanta''s talents, in October ''2000 they were nominated for an "Atlanta Gospel Choice Award". In April ''2001, released its Debut CD entitled "Are You Listening?" which has already achieved recognition by being a 2001 Grammy Entry for "Best Gospel Choir". VOA has opened for Grammy Award Winner, CeCe Winans, was featured in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2003 Olympic Water Sports Trials at Lake Lanier, and in January 2004 recorded with the legendary Sir Elton John, for is latest CD scheduled for release Fall, 2004.
Reaching out to the world to showcase its power and propensity, today Adam McKnight & Voice of Atlanta make themselves available to the corporate, secular and spiritual world through a repertoire of music composed, arranged and presented for both entertainment and encouragement.
