Waking is an emotional ambiance of authentic melodic mood swings ranging from a luring, passionate somber sound to a powerful, detonating drive that is not only captured on their recorded material but likewise at their captivating live performances. The genesis of this creation emerged in early 2000 when frontman Perf and guitarist J.P. collaborated their creative energies, forging a sound and identity that has enabled them to sell out many prestigious clubs(CBGB''s, Maxwells) and create a reputable buzz within the NYC, NJ circuit. In 2003 they were able to complete their evolution when Seth and Ryan, former drummer and bass player from Sky Wide Open, replaced former members producing a forceful chemistry to be reckoned with. Their first show was recorded and featured on last year''s Live & Loud Vol. 1 compilation produced by John Seymour (Bouncing Souls, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sick Of It All) .
Waking has recently finished its first EP, The Maze, a 7 track CD produced and engineered by Jay Kanter (Thursday & Sick Of It All ), and plans to tour the east coast in 2004 to promote their catharticism.
