Details:
Carl Wergyn''s 2nd CD, "Behind The Seen," is a mix of classical, rock, & world music, with Carl''s ability to create interesting changes and drama in his arrangements. Working from influences as diverse as Henry Mancini & Rush, Yes & Flogging Molly, Carl has crafted a spiritual & spirited album of instrumentals that excite & inspire, creating an audio landscape. The collection finishes with a spoken-word piece, "January 15th." "A true story," says Carl. "I was inspired by a dinner conversation with a teacher about the events of that day, which was followed by a program on PBS about Martin Luther King, Jr. The story wrote itself, demanding innocence, demanding awareness. I invite the listener to listen to this narrative with an open mind, as if they are a young child in an ESL class."
Each piece has its own inside story; some musical tales require introspection, while others are obvious. "''Congregation of One'' is a piece that came to me while walking in the woods... ''Glensheen'' is the name of an old stately mansion on the north shore of Lake Superior. Then there''s ''Ode to Joy,'' which was a riot to arrange," smiles Carl. "I had a picture in my mind of Beethoven living in an American inner city in the summertime while composing the finale to his ninth symphony, intent on getting people to dance in the street."
Altogether, the album is uplifting, & not necessarily meditative. Behind the Seen - the music is more than it appears.

"I love the music and plan to play ''January 15th'' for some elementary teachers in my town...it would be an incredible enhancement to Martin Luther King Day celebrations." - MJK, teacher & school board member

"My favorite song is ''Canticle in D''. The opening rhythms are very catchy, & they continue throughout. Definitely a global feel, similar to Moby & Yanni. The whole album has great energy!" - NG, realtor

"Carl has done it again. ''Behind the Seen'' is a wonderfully relaxing CD. After a very stressful day, I played the CD and felt the stress just release from my body. The musical selections are very enjoyable. A CD well worth adding to your collection." - SM, accounting project manager

"...reminiscent of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. ''Chasing Jane'' is my favorite - it is catchy and has a melody that stays with you. Take a listen!" - GC, entertainer & teacher
