Temirzhan Yerzhanov was born in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan. His creative activity and development was closely associated with the Russian performing tradition. He studied at the Moscow Central Music School and then successfully graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the prominent professor Mikhail Voskressensky. After graduating he has been an assistant to his professor for four years.

As a student Temirzhan Yerzhanov won the First Prize and Gold Medal at the XI Robert Schumann International Piano Competition in 1993 in Zwickau, Germany, that gave him an opportunity to perform on the professional stage. He appeared in recitals and chamber music concerts in Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, Italy, France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Czech Republic; with such orchestras as Zwickauer Philharmoniker, Soloists of Tchaikovsky Symphony of Moscow Radio, Kazakh Symphony, Kazakh Abai Opera and other orchestras of Russia and Kazakhstan. Temirzhan Yerzhanov made recordings for German Radio Berlin, Kazakh TV and Russian leading label - RCD Records.

Since 2002 Temirzhan Yerzhanov has been residing in the Bay Area. He made his first American debut in recital at the Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts and in Pianomania event in Walnut Creek.
