"LEE F CULLEN is one seriously talented Wiganite. The list of instruments he alone plays stretches to over a dozen! His song writing influences take in July, Jason Crest, and Sam Gopal, but also many obscure artists I shall probably never get round to hearing. What he does with these inspirations, however, is nothing short of mesmerising. Raging drums, Gregorian chanting, haunting tremeloed vocals, sweeping organs, and needle-sharp guitars all greet the listener to ‘Seasons Of Julia’. His songs are so ferociously authentic of loopy-pop circa ’69 that frankly I’m beginning to believe I’ve slipped through some time portal. Hopefully Lee will have future opportunities to release his music, because I can imagine every single Shindig! reader rushing to buy it."

"Straddling the world of demo and self releasing, Wigan’s Lee F Cullen will be unleashing his Sci-Fi space aged folk and spangled crooning pop via the website https://www.tradebit.com. “Seasons Of Julia” is a psychedelic twist of deep reverb and double time snare beats over which Cullen creates a wall of spiralling sound; one that Scott Walker would be proud of. As a home made record, the quality is very high indeed and from this point the record relaxes into a more acoustic mode. “The Ballad Of Augustine” is none the less, just as fraught with echoes and heavily effected vocals angled with hard edged harmonics. “My Imps Names Are..?” extends the strangeness via crammed-in sensible hooks, whipped inside out and again given the deep tunnel treatment. A striking, unconventional record, where electronica, folk and maligned pop all fuse into a weird multi-coloured universe of epic oddities. Watch out for the potential genius of Lee F Cullen."MMM ½
