Lost Hills is Archie Logsdon, a poet and songwriter from California''s Kern River Valley. His songs of love, death and wandering in the wilderness are evocative of the Southern Sierra region where he grew up and now resides. Clean country guitar picking and plaintive harmonica provide the background for his poetic imagery and gritty stories of faith, longing and betrayal.
Lost Hills plays at cafes, coffee houses and environmental fund raisers throughout the Central California and San Joaquin Valley region. A veteran of the San Diego folk scene of the mid-eighties, his music is influenced by Utah Phillips, John Stewart and Townes Van Zandt. He is also influenced by the life and music of Woody Guthrie, and is working on a book of protest songs.
Put Them Ghosts To Sleep, like his previous release, Eight Songs, is a home recorded CD. All of the songs are solo performances, recorded live to tape in the living room of his home in Bodfish, California, two weeks before Christmas in December, 2008. The wind was blowing, the coyotes were howling and snow was falling in the mountains. The ten original compositions are a good representation of what you would hear if you make it to one of his live shows. Hope to see you there!
