Details:
Born and Raised in the musical hot-spot Detroit, Lorne developed a love
of music at a very early age. He began his musical training with piano
lessons at the age of 9. He became more interested in playing the guitar,
spending hours a day teaching himself to play the instrument through
patience and the musical influence of musicians including: Jimi Hendrix,
Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, and many other blues musicians.

At the age of 18, Lorne had a musical epiphany after being introduced
to the Jazz/Funk genre by his brother. He then decided that he wanted to
follow in the footsteps of his idols, which include: Grant Green, Herbie Hancock,
Boogaloo Joe Jones, Melvin Sparks, Greyboy Allstars, Galactic, Jimmy Smith,
Wes Montgomery, Lou Donaldson, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, The Meters,
James Brown, the J.B.’s, Charles Earland, Gene Harris, Sonny Rollins, Willie Bobo,
and many others.

At the age of 20, Lorne packed his bags and moved out to California with
the hopes of making a name for himself in the L.A. music scene. Sidetracked from
his dreams of playing in a Jazz/Funk/Soul group because of the lack of jazz/Funk
musicians in the area, Lorne pursued a career as a bassist/Keyboardist in various
rock bands in Hollywood, including a band with drummer “Ginger Fish” of Marilyn
Manson. During this time, Lorne learned all the ins and outs of music production
and recording, and put his multi-instrumental abilities to work, developing his
original Jazz/Funk compositions. Frustrated with the lack of musical diversity
in Los Angeles, Lorne decided to move back to Detroit to steadily pursue a career
as a Jazz/Funk/Soul musician.

Upon return to Detroit in the spring of 2008, Lorne picked up where he
left off, and returned to playing Jazz/Funk/Soul music exclusively.
