BABYSUE REVIEW The - The Tetherball EP (Independently released CD EP,Pop) Instantly likable girl pop. Led by Andy Gish, this Atlanta trio is treading in territory similar to ultra poppy bands like Magnapop. Gish''s songs are straightforward and simple...and extremely catchy.
Buzzsaw guitars and steady rhythms support upbeat tunes that are a pure feelgood experience. The title track kicks ass. Rounding out the band are Alex Pilson (drums) and Tim Hill (guitar). This EP will whet the appetite of many for the band''s next full-length release...

-----------------------------------------------------
The Yum Yum Tree was spawned in Atlanta, GA with roots reaching deep into the South. One Texas girl and two southern boys complete the band''s family tree, which branched from 4-tracks to regular radio rotation in only 8
weeks. Described as "one of Atlanta''s brightest lights in the foggy pop underground," The Yum Yum Tree "recalls the best moments of late 80''s Pixies and Throwing Muses without borrowing directly from the source."

Ms. Andy Gish''s rock-n-roll roots were seeded way before she even entered kindergarten. Growing up with a father who jammed with Funkadelic in a basement in Akron and a mother who would rather play bass than bake cookies. Gish eventually settled her influences between such adventurous fare as Syd Barrett''s Pink Floyd, the Pixes and Mazzy Star. Previous to The Yum Yum Tree, Gish spent 8 years in the Texas garage prog band The Lost Episodes.

In September of 2000, the idea of The Yum Yum Tree was born in Atlanta, GA and within six weeks they were recording without a permanent guitar player. That fall they released their EP, which turned them into Album 88 (WRAS) faves and established considerable local interest in the band before any major shows were even scheduled.

TYYT''s debut full length, Reverse Engines harvested loving reviews from the press and landed the band on the Best Albums of 2002 list in both the Atlanta Journal Contitution and Creative Loafing. They also received recognition as one of the best live shows of the year in Creative Loafing. The Yum Yum Tree followed the release of Reverse Engines, with national college radio play and a tour of the Southeast.

In March 2005, tyyt released The Tetherball EP. The Yum Yum Tree is currently working on their sophomore fulllength release at Bel-Air Studio in Athens, GA.
