Zero Rain has been a vital presence on the Columbus, Ohio modern-rock scene for several years and they have established themselves as original band that just won''t quit! Their melodic hook-laden songs and introspective, often poetic, lyrics seek to explore the emotions that are constant and universal between all people.

Emerging from several early versions of the band, singer-songwriter, James Housteau, and drummer, Chris Winder, formed a collaborative core whose musical vision far exceeded "local" expectations.
Seeking out other like-minded musicians led James and Chris to recruit guitarist, Dave Gallagher, and bassist, Steve Gross, in 1999.
Together, their efforts produced a fresh and modern backdrop for James'' infectious melodic songs.
This foundation allowed James to focus on writing songs that delve even more intensely into the heart of our collective human experience.
Such honesty, focus, and growth garnered them quick notice within the local/regional music scene.
The live shows, combined with ever-constant writing, recording, and promotion, quickly established Zero Rain as a band with definite purpose.
Their debut CD, Somewhere Else, released in 2001, satiated fans between the band''s engaging shows - and has created a buzz for their much-anticipated follow-up, Atmosphere.
The recording features songs by all the members plus appearances on several cuts by violin virtuoso, Christian Howes.
This, in turn, has allowed the band to explore new musical territory while maintaining the integrity of their rock-n-roll roots - all of which helps provide those exciting and creative moments the band absolutely craves.
Slated for release in March of 2002, Zero Rain feels that Atmosphere is true representation of the growing self awareness as individual artists, as well as a band.
