I’ve been inspired to work with children by my two children, Tiffany Rose and Dominic. They have been the greatest joy in my life and have inspired me to enhance the positive wonder and every day miracles of life.
I grew up on a farm in Castleford, Idaho. I was inspired by my forth grade teacher Polly Parker, to reach for the highest good and help others. Polly has remained my mentor and lifelong friend. I studied Maharishi Ayur Veda natural healing and natural medicine in India in 1980. Then worked in Dr. John Zamaras cardiology office in Orange County California teaching meditation to his heart and cancer patients to help with their stress. I taught Dr. Thomas Gordon’s “Parent Effectiveness Training” classes in southern California and Idaho (Non-Violent Positive Parenting). I wrote “The Character Development-Bully Prevention Program,” a school curriculum K-6 for drug, alcohol, tobacco and violence prevention. The program has been used nationally. I taught the program in Orange County and LA County California and in Boise, Idaho, working specifically with at risk kids (LA Times and Orange County Register 1993).
I wrote "The Little Wave who Remembered" and co-wrote "The World Is My Family" to help teach my children kindness, compassion, and the value of treating others the way that they themselves want to be treated. I wanted to protect their character and their hearts from the darkness of judging others and of prejudice. They will live happier, more loving lives, not separating themselves from the human family with "them and us" thinking. Strength of character and kindness is the foundation of bully prevention and a much better world for all of us.
This CD teaches children about Nature and the Creative Intelligence within them and around them. Learning to notice and appreciate nature, and the Laws of Nature all around them, gives a child something positive, a constant, to observe and to focus on in their daily lives: birds flying in a row, the perfect orderliness in a snowflake or a flower, the dependability of the sun, the moon and the order in the universe, gravity etc.
