Born James L. Burns JR., in Los Angeles, CA. and raised in Compton, CA. 2nd James was also known as Semaj, during the 1990''s when he first started as a solo Hip Hop artist signed to United Sounds Music. In the early 90''s United Sound Music placed Semaj with an R&B group called Stage Coach, where he was used as a background singer and Rapper which helped to enhance his vocal ability and stage presence. Once 2nd James had expended his contract with United Sounds Music he moved on and continued writing and pursuing his career on his own.
However, in April of 2003, after being faced with several life threatening trials Semaj, (James Burns) had to die unto himself and was reborn into the body of Christ as 2nd James. This talented, God Gifted Minister of Gospel Rap, arose and brought a new, fresh and peculiar style to Wrappin'' the Word of God. If you''re not ready for the Gospel "Truth", then you''re not ready for 2nd James. This Strong, Powerful, Mighty Man of God is taking the country by storm using only the God gifted talent given to him, Spittin Nothin but the pure uncut Word of God. Although he only stands 5''7 2nd James stands with authority, not conformed to the world''s normal dress trend of Rap Performers/ Ministers with their saggy pants and over sized T-shirts. This Royal Priest Hood of a Soldier dresses suited and booted in a suit and tie as he conducts his father''s business. 2nd James writes and composes all his own lyrics, as well as writing for others. His ability to take the written Word of God and transpose it into Rap form is truly a gift from God. His strong, powerful and unique stage presence has inspired and blessed many, from the youngest to the oldest of all nationalities.
2nd James has wrapped the Word of God and presented it on numerous occasions. He has ministered at hundreds of Churches, several Prisons and many Parks and other Gospel events, such as the Gospel Comedy Slam hosted by the Eternal Praise Production. 2nd James has ministered along with other known Gospel Artist like Catch 2, Brent Jones, C. l. Ryderz, Nysa Shenae, The Prophet X, and many others. His Music Ministry has aired on numerous Cable Shows on the West Coast. 2nd James is currently working on his video "The Truth". His plans at this point are to continue promoting his Music Ministry and eventually establish his own Label called Gift Wrappin'' Records. 2ndJames, a Power Packin Explosion of biblical truths. 2nd James is truly one of Gods anointed and appointed for this chosen generation. He''s rapidly spreading the word of God through R.A.P(Radical Anointed Praise) with a Holy Boldness based on a foundation of Integrity , Character, Love, and TRUTH!
