Details:
Commutor is a collection of music from the fertile imagination of Gordon Neal Herman while working in his studio Another Time Music. The material ranges from hard driving jazz rock of the title track Commutor to the atmospheric sounds of The Night Unfolds it Wings with a variety of sounds in between.

Commutor is in the same type of vein as Jeff Beck’s Freeway Jam – a high energy vision of driving down the highway with the pedal to the metal.

Desert March captures the sound of marching under a burning sun and over scorching hot sands.

Yacht Boy owes its title to a young man at a party that I performed at several years ago. It was a wedding reception for an older couple and this young gentleman, dressed like he was at a Yacht Club, was trying to cruise the party for a conquest and was humorously failing at it.

On the Moor evokes the sounds of dusk on a moor. One can almost hear the banshee about to wail.

The Mad Man’s Last Dance has an Arabic sounding melody over a driving fusion beat.

The Ghost in the Machine percolates a long as those entities that reside in our machines wake up to the tasks at hand.

Night Life in Ginza 2 AM is about a place that never seems to sleep.

Godzilla Goes for a Sunday Stroll and Tokyo better watch out. This is a fun song about Godzilla and is dedicated to my friends George who was there when the idea was first born and to Jamie who said she loved the song but hated the title. May they both rest in peace.

The Night Unfolds Its Wings is not for the faint of heart. It is about the fear and terror that lurks in the darkness after the sun goes down.

This album is dedicated to two of my recently departed friends – Jeffrey Dawkins and Mark Staker. Both were good musicians and creative souls. Both of them will be sorely missed.
