From Blues to Insanity takes one down to the trailer park and looks in every
trash filled closet, under every stained mattress, and turns the light on in every
roach infested kitchen.
There is something for every blues lover on this CD. From traditional 12 bar blues
(TV Coma and Adolescent Sex Thing), to Latin inspired blues (Goodtime Man and
I''m Not Your Friend), to out of control blues grooves (Tie You Up), to acoustic
blues (Shallow Grave) and in between lots and lots of smoking, out of control
guitar.
Although remaining true to traditional blues subjects such as unrequited love,
adultery, and murder, From Blues to Insanity also delves into the darker
seamier side of life including, voyeurism, bondage, and sexual fetishism.
In "Adolescent Sex Thing" the pre-pubescent Johnny and Melissa confront
uncontrollable sexual urges brought about by raging hormones. After seeking
refuge in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and church, they finally seek their
deliverance through watching daytime trash TV.
In "Tie You Up" a man tries to entice his wife into experimental bondage. Even
using the argument that it''s ok because "the President and his wife are into it"
and that it''s acceptable because, after all, he saw it on TV. In the end he resorts
to the oldest argument around after all, it''s because "I love you".
"Shitty Little Love Song" is a critique of the fast-food like packaging of today''s
pop stars by mega-music corporations. Describing them as self-obsessed posers
participating in a MTV produced "multicolored spandex nightmare" for mass
consumption.
"Shallow Grave": the ultimate in ending a relationship.
So dim the lights so you can''t see the unwashed dishes in the sink, and the
paint peeling off the wall behind your stereo, then pour a drink, light up, listen
