*** NEW REVIEW ***
"Aspen Black''s new CD ''A Hundred Years Too Late''(CRCD008)on the Catawba label, was recommended to me by radio host, Al Krtil. Aspen owns and operates a ranch where she breaks and trains horses! Her lyrics reflect her love of the West and it''s wide open spaces. Among the 12 selections, there''s a song that''s sub-titled "The Ballad Of Ian Tyson", and otheres like "Ride, Cowgirl, Ride" and "Barrel Horse Blues", that reflects her perspective as a cowgirl and a trainer. While all the songs on this CD are originals, they don''t overdo the percussion that so often characterizes contemporary recordings. Accompaniment emphasizes the acoustic sound, albeit not exclusively so. Available at https://www.tradebit.com, 1-800-489-2395." OJ Sykes, ''The Western Way'' magazine.

"GOOD MORNING FROM THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS. FIRST, MY FAVORITE SONG IS "HOOFPRINTS ON THE CLOUDS" HAVING GROWN UP ON A 155,000 ACRE RANCH IN THE MOUNTAINS OF MONTANA, I''M A MAJOR ANIMAL PERSON. I ALWAYS HAVE AT LEAST 2 FEMALE DOBERMANS ON HAND AND LOVE THEM MORE THAN I LOVE MOST PEOPLE. I STILL GRIEVE FOR ANIMALS THAT DIED YEARS AGO. ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH A POEM CALLED "THE RAINBOW BRIDGE"? YOUR SONG REMINDS ME OF IT.
SECONDLY, MY RADIO PROGRAM HAS ALLOWED ME TO MEET SO MANY ARTISTS AND FORTUNATELY RIGHT HERE IN THE DALLAS FT. WORTH AREA THERE ARE SO MANY ARTISTS THAT FEEL AS YOU AND I DO, THAT THE SPIRIT AND MEMORY OF THE REAL WEST MUST BE PERPETUATED. SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE RED STEAGALL, DON EDWARDS, JOE PAUL NICHOLS, DON WALSER, COWBOY JOE BABCOCK, DAN ROBERTS AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. LEANN RIMES GOT ME STARTED IN THIS BUSINESS AND IS STILL A CLOSE FRIEND. I KNEW JOHN WAYNE AND HIS WIFE PYLAR IS A GOOD FRIEND. I AM SO BLESSED WITH FRIENDS. ALSO THE RADIO STATION OWNERS ALLOW ME TO TAPE MY SHOWS AND SEND THEM TO THE STATION EACH MONDAY. I DO "LEGENDS OF COUNTRY" AN SAT. MORNINGS (2 HOURS) AND "HYMNS OF PRAISE AND INSPIRATION ON SUNDAY MORNINGS [2 HOURS ). RAY PRICE LISTENS TO MY SAT. SHOWS.
YOU DO GOOD STUFF. KEEP IT UP. ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS OWNS A COUNTRY MUSIC REVUE THEATER (HE''S THE PERSON WHO TAUGHT LEANN THE ROPES) AND HE TELLS EVERYONE THAT DETERMINATION AND PERSEVERANCE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENTS OF SUCCESS."
