Soul Sides - FINALLY,those of you who don''t mind a little touch of R&B with their soul might get into All My Love from Philly vocalist and writer ROBERT GEE. The thing that sets it apart is that Rob can surely sing. Of course this means he doesn''t necessarily follow whatever the latest R&B trend is - like who cares? Instead opting to sing the way he learned on a bunch of melodies that old fuddy duddy soul fans would probably lap up. A Bit Brian McKnight, then, but not so samey in the song department.

Naturally, my own preference is for the moments he takes it over into our territory and his Hathaway-like tendencies rise to the top: a soft, glowing cover of "Round Midnight" for example. But there''s every chance you''ll enjoy this CD''S greater part. CHRIS WELLS-ECHOES MAG. (UK)

https://www.tradebit.com - The disc opens smartly with it''s best track. With Pamela Williams'' jazz sax as a backdrop, Gee confidently glides through this radio ready track. While "All My Love" is the albums most commercial cut, it is by no means the only memorable one. Perhaps the most enjoyable things about "All My Love"--and there are a lot of enjoyable moments on this disc, Robert Gee sounds absolutely fresh , issuing one of hte most consistently accessible albums of the year. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. BY:CHRIS RIZIK

https://www.tradebit.com (Germany) - With this album Robert Gee wants to transport the "True Soul" and arouse the deepest emotions. The album begins with "All My Love" in the finest R& B tradition. With a voice that lies down like a silk cloth with saxophone backgrounds. It has what we call that certain something...But it not just a Quiet storm trimmed album. Gee also has R&B and Hip Hop Tracks. The High quality production holds a beneficial distance from the average music. Tends to the extraordinary and spoils the senses. But Gees velvet voice and high precision drawing plays the main role.

https://www.tradebit.com (UK) - This is more of an R&B set than previous albums i have reviewed of late. There is more intelligence to this gentleman then you''ll find on the run of the mill sets spewed out by the majors and as such is far more accessible than most that are around at the moment. But if you like artist like Cognac and Kino Watson then you should also like Robert Gee. Tracks like "When You Get Down To It" and "Here We Go" remind me of Brian McKnights "Ten" release. But "Come Home" does nothing but elevate Robert from his legion of contemporaries. This is recommended release from an artist with a glowing future.

True “soul” music evokes emotions and speaks straight to the heart of the listener. Robert Gee not only continues the great legacy of soulful singers, he evolves it. With a rich, seductive voice that compels you to join him in his sonic odyssey of love and longing, he has crafted a multi-dimensional sound that is at once uniquely his own but reminiscent of the great crooners who came before him. Just take one listen to his wildly authentic reading of the Oscar Brown chestnut, “Round Midnight,” where Robert Gee very convincingly channels Donny Hathaway with shades of Stevie Wonder. While he clearly pays tribute to some of his musical influences, he has no problem switching gears to serve up his own brand of modern day soul complete with lush, harmonious backing vocals that are a delight to the ears. On tracks like the infectious mid-tempo gem, “Here We Go,” Robert Gee showcases his inspired musicianship with a vocal arrangement that would eat up a vocalist of a lesser caliber. However, his forte is delivering quiet storm ballads such as the slow burn groove of “Waiting.” You find yourself rooting for him as he masterfully persuades the object of his affection to take their friendship to the next level and sets a mood that makes it all but impossible to refuse his pleas.

Hailing from the city of brotherly love, Robert Gee is an heir apparent to the “Philly Soul” tradition.

However, it is his electrifying stage presence and voice that has allowed Robert Gee to work with some of the entertainment industry’s elite talents such as the late Luther Vandross, Vesta, The Emotions, Teena Marie, Bebe Winans, La Shun Pace, Pauletta Washington and Vanessa Bell Calloway to name a few. Now, it’s his turn to rightfully take his place as the next big thing in music and with such an impeccable reputation as a show stopper, he’s bound to become an icon.
