Registrazioni Italiane is back with Nanou after the successful project Minimalismo Italiano – a compilation dedicated to Italian electro-dance sounds compiled with Davide Rossillo. The French dj is back again with these wonderful lyrics she wrote and sings that evoke a melancholic journey, halfway between Gainsbourg and Booka Shade.
Dernière Cigarette is a bitter love story that revolves around a hypnotic bass sequence and melancholic melodies. The straight bass drum beat, the electro mood and the classical clap-hand make it a tune for the dance-floor but the sexy and suggestive mood and the lyrics Nanou sings make it even perfect for listening to. The result is a pop track suspended between radio and underground atmospheres, held together in a delicate balance, just like the sensibility of the artist.
National and international artists of the dance world have taken up the challenge of remixing the superb track: from Water Lilly and Love Motel, pearls of Swiss electronic music, to Phutura, electro-neoclassical element of the Naples school, right through Dibla, member of the Trieste-based Electrosacher collective, Pierjay Funkyman from Ciociaria (Lazio, Italy), and the young artists of the South Pontina plain (Central Italy) Gigi Galli, Davide Del Vecchio and Daniel Puz. 50 minutes of music.
