John Bisaillon aka J-Biz Da Bizniss grew up in the Maryvale section of Phoenix AZ, attending both Maryvale and Trevor Brown high schools. “I witnessed and was involved in what most rappers talked about”. Seeing friends get shot and sent to prison for murder, robbery, and drugs John was headed for a grim ending. “Looking back I see that God always had a way out prepared for me”. ................A local boxing coach convinced Biz to start lessons at his gym. Boxing provided Biz an alternative to the harsh realities of trying to fit in, in his crime ridden west side Maryvale neighborhood. "Boxing got me in a lot of trouble but it gave me an Identity." Biz learned, to be the best, you have to train like the best, a lesson he would transfer into his music later in life...................Biz''s home life was anything but typical. “Everybody knew my house was the drug spot” Biz recalls, BIZ''S father known as "Big Al" was a well known west side pool hustler,biker, and drug dealer. I learned all my hustle from pops, he was the man." "I''m not as loud and boisterous as my dad was but I did inherit his mouthpiece and charisma."......................Originally from the east coast, Biz was highly influenced by New York hip hop. Later moving to Phoenix AZ where he would learn first hand about west coast gangster rap. "We didn''t have cable so we watched The Box." "It never had good reception, but they played all the raw hip hop jams, all day."............................Biz started memorizing all of his favorite artists verses, not knowing eventualy he would be the one kids where listening to. When Biz started writing his own rhymes at fifteen he had found his calling. "I was always creative, I loved doing graffiti and drawing, but there was something special about getting up in front of people and spitting a rhyme that I spent days perfecting."...............................After dropping out of high school, Biz got his GED and joined the U.S. Army. Biz''s unit soon deployed to the middle east and Biz was faced with the reality that he might not make it home. "When Saddam''s launching missiles in your direction , you have a more clear perspective on life." Biz had just had his first son and the Army provided the means for Biz to take care of him, but Biz''s old ways would eventually become a hindrance to that situation. Biz was released from duty after receiving some hefty drug and assault charges. "People don''t know, the military is grimy." "Most of the dudes are straight out the hood, me included."...................................Biz decided to go back to Phoenix and go to school for music business and recording. Biz started getting his grind on,promoting himself,local artists, night clubs, and his recording studio. Around this time Biz was in and out of jail,at the end of his rope,and even homeless, events that most would see as desolate God used to lead Biz to the throne of glory. Biz gave his heart to Jesus Christ, and was saved from an eternity in hell for his life of sin. Shortly after, the studio Biz worked at and helped to build was burglarized and everything inside was stolen, Biz, fed up and leary of all his friends and business associates decided to move out to Las Vegas where his family could have a fresh start........................ Doing shows and dropping mix tapes Biz was soon noticed by a visiting artist from L.A. named 2five the Hood Reverend. 2five offered Biz a recording contract with his indie rap label called Most High Media, under The Machine, and Koch distribution. Feeling the label was not getting behind his project enough Biz severed the ties after only one year. Tired and weary he returned to Phoenix. Seeing many local artists he had booked for shows, or made beats for in the past getting deals with majors Biz was exuberant. "My city is finally getting noticed, and I just wanna be a part of it." Faith in Christ and a determination to keep moving forward, even in the worst possible positions life offers, is what sets J-Biz da Bizniss apart
