BLUE VELVET HIGHWAY
Blue Velvet Highway represents a mix of different styles and genres of music from basic blues to folk rock, ballads, harder edged rock to country rock. The members consist mostly of old friends who occasionally played together in cover bands and as individuals in the Chicago area.
JIM WEARNE, a singer/songwriter from the Downers Grove IL area has been doing solo recording and performing for some time using his skills on vocals, the acoustic guitar and harmonica. He has been joined in the studio by his longtime friend DARRYL JONES on bass (also form Downers Grove) who is a singer/songwriter in his own right. With longtime friends and singer/songwriters PAULVLAJCIC of Brookfield IL on electric lead and rhythm guitars, CARL JOHNSON of Plainfield IL on keyboards, and dynamic drummer NICK RAIC of north suburban Green Oaks IL., Blue Velvet Highway continues.
Their self titled 1st CD is an eclectic mix of all of the above styles with JEFF KUST Of Brookfield IL contributing 2 songs on electric guitar and vocals, and KIM HAGEMANN of Round Lake IL playing drums. Session musician ROBERT ROSE of Elmhurst IL sings lead vocals on tracks 1 and 4 and provides many production functions on guitars and keyboards.
