Now and then, I think about the late Luther Vandross.
There are some people who impact the world in a profound manner,...Luther is one of those individuals.
He didn''t invent the car or the airplane or the telephone,
he taught us how to use those things romantically!...Luther
was the link between the inventions and the lovers especially when he sang "A House Is Not A Home", written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David,...His interpretation of the song made us understand that "A House Is Not A Home" when there''s no one there to care for you...The tone of his voice was very expressive as he emphasized the ground rules
and the feeling of love better than anyone I''ve ever heard.
One of my goals as an entertainer is to be as impactful as romantic heroes such as Luther Vandross.
Every bachelor knows the names of the great balladiers.
The guys who sing songs that you can rely on the ''get your lady in the mood''...Smokey Robinson, Barry White, Frank Sinatra, Brian McKnight, Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett and of course...Luther Vandross...He''s gone, but his music lives on! I like writing love songs...I like composing songs about the things that people love like "Hip Huggers",those sexy pants that young pretty women and girls are wearing these dayswhich is the subject of one of the songs included on this album...The title cut, "Family Begins With Love" puts focus on the fact that we are all family,...we live in this world together so why don''t we try to get along. All of my fans know that I write a lot of songs about how I hate racial prejudice. It is so sad that some people dislike you because of the color of your skin or your religion. My childhood and lifetime best friend in the world is of the Muslim faith...He is the same as he always was,...He has merely found a Light that glows brighter for him...We should celebrate the Hapiness of Enlightment rather than be offended by it!
I guess this is the album for dedications...I was so inspired by the love I saw between Dawnielle and David that I wrote the song "Your Great Day"...
I am anxious that you are about to hear my new album...I rarely say this, but it is very good,...you won''t be disappointed.
The song "Boy Toy" is about a guy who will do anything for his woman...As He Should!!!
"It Feels Good" is my musical/lyrical tribute to a bunch of things that ''Feel Good''..."Hard Work" is solid rap...It tells about...what else "Hard Work !"
"Everybody Knows She''s My Baby" takes us back to a fifties feel...Its got a really nice groove!
"Weekend Dad" is about all of those absentee fathers who wake up when its too late.
I always attempt to cover a lot of subjects in very album...
this time,I believe I have approached fewer areas from more than one perspective...So, how is it possible that one person can have more than one opinion?...Its just that every person, including myself, has a different ''spin'' on things depending on when you speak to them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about why our troops are in Iraq...Its really a no-brainer...Its a one word explanation.
OIL!!!!!!!!!!!
There are 500 million barrels of OIL under the California coastline but politicians have created laws to prevent us from drilling for this OIL because of supposed environmental reasons...The real reason for not extracting this OIL from our beaches is there would no longer be an OIL shortage and OIL companies, who pay the politicians
could no longer charge us THREE BUCKS A GALLON for gasoline!
Additionally, the entire process of holding us hostage in regards to the high price of gasoline would not be possible if we did not allow it!...We need to protest the high price of OIL by (1)Not going to work on Monday!
This would show several things. First, it would make a statement that without us, not only will the oil companies
fail but so will all other businesses in the world!
Our employers would not survive without us being there every
day...If we stopped going to work, the price of gasoline would drop drastically in just a few days!
