I put this out in in 1990. This is a concept album about life. It''s a realist''s dream. Life starts out with light, hope and inspiration. A man dreams and rides on in his mislayed plans, only to wake up to find that time has been his friend and enemy. He realizes that it''s all just in vain and in the end he is alone. It may seem a bit dark, but it''s the way I felt at the time. This album is very Who and Yes influenced, yet it is my own. Many people said that my vocals reminded them of Greg Lake of King Crimson. I did everything on this one and did it at a friend''s studio in Burlington Ma. Glen Lawrence Studios. Glen Davy engineered this album.
Beware...There are many David James artists, but my songs will speak for themselves. If you hear a david james doing hip hop, you can be assured it''s not me!!! I''m a real music kind of guy and I believe the music industry has ruined what was created at the beginning. The industry used to be run by people who loved music. Now it''s run by dollar hungry businessmen who just want to make a fast buck. They couldn''t care less about the integrity of this art form. I have spent my whole life trying to put out a better product. I play all the instruments and am involved in the creation of this product from A to Z.
Remember, when you hear a song for the first time, you may
not catch it. Songs must be heard a few times before you may
like them. That''s how it''s done on radio, it''s played over and over until you get used to it. Don''t let greedy businessmen decide what music you like. I like real music
done by quality musicians and that''s what will last. I doubt
you''ll ever hear of a classic rap station in the future,
there''s just no quality or substance there.
