I have been writing songs since I was 5 years old. They started with me pounding on my grandma''s piano, although it may not have sounded like much to anyone else, I could feel it. That is still the only thing that really matters to me. Now I pick up my acoustic guitar, usually late at night, and I use it to feel. Music is my soul in song form. I have been told I need to pick a direction or find something that fits in with what''s playing on the radio. I was told I would be successfull if I did this. I have been told I need to do a lot of things by various managers, record labels, and whoever else felt they knew what I should do. I just kept writing, recording, and playing music from within. Now I have the record I want. I recorded with three people that believed in my songs and voice. We weren''t paid and had to battle through a lot of demons to capture the soul of each song. I am thankful to have found such an amazing team of people. They are: Phill Warner, Josh Beaman, and Steven C. Johnson.
Some songs went down fast, simple pop songs that just fell into place. Some songs took more patience, ever growing and changing. However one thing remained the same...I had to feel the song. Now the recordings are done, a picture of a place in time. Sometimes the picture has an intricate background eluding to that which lies under the surface. Other times the picture is simple and bold. I can guarantee you one thing. There is nothing quite like this collection of music. So listen and see what you think, but more importantly what you feel. That''s all that matters to me. I make music for myself and just as importantly for you. I want nothing more than to hear the resinating tone of the song bouncing from soul to soul. I believe the differences in life are an illusion. We are all one in the same, seemingly fragmented yet really a whole. Every time the music connects on the deepest level with anyone, it confirms my belief. You know that feeling you get at a concert or show when the room is alive and everyone seems to be sharing in one emotion that''s flowing with the music? I think that''s why; it''s because we are all re-connecting to what we may have forgotten, yet always known. It''s something we have to do together. So if the songs don''t all sound the same, don''t be alarmed. After all, do you always feel the same? Do we all look the same? For that matter does all the music you listen to sound the same; not likely in this world where a billion songs and ideas are at your finger tips. So I chose not to listen to those managers and record labels. I am giving you the whole picture, not just something that fits nicely into a marketing scheme. I am giving you everything without hesitation or any kind of filter. I will not stray from this path and I hope to find you within me and me within you along the way.....
