Kathy Conaway has a passion for singing. She sings because the music in her soul will not let her stop. Whether she feels hopelessly depressed or full or joy, she sings. Her musical journey had its major beginnings in her dad''s tool shop behind the family home near Pontotoc, Mississippi. It was here, around the age of 13, that Kathy studied a variety of music. Debbie Gibson and Amy Grant were among some of the talented artists whose songs she enjoyed. She focused intently, however, on the vocal maneuvers of Mariah Carey. She recorded herself singing repeatedly until she was satisfied with the results, and the results were nothing less than phenomenal. She listened intently and practiced persistently for years before her first public performance at the age of 17. When her best friend insisted she perform "Vision of Love" at a high school band banquet, her nerves said no but her heart said yes. The crowd went wild and gave Kathy the confidence to continue performing publicly.
Today, desire and talent overflow into Kathy''s music that is ripe with years of writing experience, heartache and revelation. At age 24, Kathy Conaway is ready to share her musical soul with the world.
Recently completed, "Even Through All The Blue" is Kathy''s first CD and includes 11 of her most heartfelt songs. She performed background vocals and all instrumentals with the exception of lead guitar on three selections. Tracks 10 & 11 show some of Kathy''s feelings on religion with the powerful, upbeat "Sunshine" (10) and her soulful rendition of "All That Matters" (11).
The songs on this CD will unlock emotions you may not even know existed. As you listen you may think - "I''ve been there!"
