Sapphire Singers is 7 years in the making. It all began in 2002 when a group of High School students formed a band to sing Acapella, in the Solomon Islands. With the vision to move the group forward, they needed someone to support and manage them and this is where Geoff Posala took up the challenge and soon had others jumping on board the project like his wife, Donna Posala, the key musician Eric Katovai and Sherwyn Rore, Ocean Productions for recording and mixing. This was the beginning of something good. With the first album being recorded in Honiara, Solomon Islands in Ocean Production Studios, Testimony was launched. This would start the fist series of music clips by Sapphire. To help with this project Bruce Potter who was an avid diver and cameraman was approached to shoot Sapphire and took up filming the singers in 2002. This was followed by a string of other albums ‘Hope Again’, ‘Mercy’, ‘Just a Little More Time’ and to date the latest release ‘Papa God’, an inspiring album that consists of songs written by the Sapphire Singers and Team and including songs composed from Papua New Guinea. The latest music clip for the ‘Papa God’ album was shot in Sydney, Australia by Troy Livah. Since the launching of the first album Sapphire has toured various parts of the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and in 2008 they toured Australia in Brisbane and Sydney. It has been a journey and with God’s Grace Sapphire will continue to bring people the Good News through their unique, inspiring and dynamic music.
