Details:
Lamar C. Horne, a born gospel singer, began his career at the age of 11 or 12 singing with the local quartet groups in
Wadesboro, North Carolina. Singing the gospel is synonomous with living to Lamar.
He has traveled and sang, nationally, with such greats as
Mme. Edna Gallman Cooke, Julius Cheeks, and Tommy Ellison.
In 1973, Lamar relocated to South Carolina and founded his own gospel group - The Gospel Serenadors. Since that time, the group has recorded many albums/cds on such labels as Seventy-Seven, AIR, and Shurfine. They have also traveled widely along the east coast.
In 2000 Lamar founded his own label--PoChild Productions.
When he was younger, having spent his young adult life in Washington, D. C., his friends affectionately called him "pochild." The name for his label was derived from that name. He has had two releases under this label and both have been well received.
