Creativity knows no bounds for Scott Fowler. It’s not enough for him to be a filmmaker, photographer, graphic artist and second-degree black belt in Karate. In between doing all of that, he found the time to become an independent musician.

Cinema Skeleton was formed in 2007, by Scott Edward Fowler. The band is a one-man act and releases their material through Scott’s label , “Indie Vibe Records (A Maxsco Entertainment Company).”

Creativity knows no bounds for Scott Fowler. It’s not enough for him to be a filmmaker, photographer, graphic artist and second-degree black belt in Karate. In between doing all of that, he found the time to become an independent musician.

Fowler was born in Beverly Hills, CA but grew up in Simi Valley (talk about a downgrade). He received his first guitar at age 14 and started a band with some friends. He later taught himself bass, keyboards and drums and worked on various solo projects before working on Cinema Skeleton.

Cinema Skeleton comes from the name of a Van Gogh painting of a skeleton smoking a cigarette. The name is also a reference to Fowler’s love of Film and Photography. He released his debut album, Metropolis, in September 2007.

The album is a collection of songs influenced by legendary artists such as Joy Division, The Chameleons UK, Grizzly Bear, Spoon and Radiohead. The songs are packed with Indie-style guitars, keyboards and the like.

“The lyrics I write are almost always about someone I know because heartbreaks and breakups are the easiest to write about,” he says with a laugh. His debut album contains tales from his life about losing friends, gaining friends, changing jobs, changing schools and other things about life.
