Audius is a rock/jazz/jam band from Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. The group was first formed in 2002 by current members Jeremy Holmes and Mario Machado. There was really no sign of promise in the original music from these times, and most of the old recordings have been fortunately lost to oblivion (only to be revisited among bouts of laughter and embarrassment). However, as the kids grew up, the music changed and new members Darren McGillicuddy and Jack Stanley helped to fill out the band’s sound. Through high school, Audius ran the gamut of local coffee shops and backyard parties, supplementing these shows with payed gigs at business parties. They created an interesting mix of jazz standards and original jazz/fusion songs, as well as heavier rock and acoustic music. In the spring of 2007, the band had the unique opportunity to open for Matt Nathanson, an acoustic musician from San Fransisco. That year Audius also self-recorded and self-produced their first album Black and White Is Cheaper. After almost 6 years together as both friends and band-mates, the group continues to make music and has recently finished up their second album, Sea Deep, which is for sale digitally through https://www.tradebit.com.
