Details:
When Rob''s girlfriend Jill breaks up with him because she has decided to become a nun, Rob coincidentally starts having seizures whenever he tries to sing. This is a problem for a high school student who wants to become a rock star. Rob decides to win Jill back at the school talent show, but first he must square off against his biggest opponent of all: Jesus. In Love With a Nun is a fun, musical comedy in the vein of indie favorites Juno and Once.

"I wrote the songs in the film years before I wrote the script. It''s similar in that respect to Mama Mia", says writer/director Ron Eltanal. "I had these existing songs, and figured out a story that could work around them. The lyrics to the songs didn''t have to change much at all. In fact, one of the songs was written for my wife when we first started dating, so I named the girl in the movie after her. People who worked on the movie or who''ve previewed it ask her, ''Did you really want to be a nun in high school?'' And the answer is no, she didn''t, the song is based on true events, but the script is not at all."

Ron has high hopes for the movie after its Chicago screening and is in pursuit of financing and distribution. "Through screening the short film at festivals and distributing it in whatever ways we can, I''d like to get financing to turn it into a feature. I''m working on a feature length script right now, because I want to find out what happens to these characters. I''ve always envisioned them as two people who were meant to be together, with one, fairly insurmountable obstacle, the fact that she wants to be a nun. That''s the heart of the movie, and I don''t know where they end up, but I''d like to follow them there, and I think, after seeing the short, that other people will too."

Additional music for the film as well as production and arrangements for all music materials came from the film star Peter Oyloe working in conjunction with his longtime collaborator Shannon Bengford.
