Distant Circus is a two man project. All of the material is written and recorded by Richard Goetz and Chris Anderson. Richard is vocals, guitars, bass guitar. Chris is drums, percussion, guitar, bass guitar, keys. They have been playing together for years and have been friends since grade school. Both grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. For many years they both participated in various groups and projects while living in Memphis, TN. Over time, Richard and Chris went separate ways and led separate lives. Distant Circus came about after the friends reconnected via the internet. Though each was living in a separate city and a separate state, Rich and Chris managed to hammer together new music tracks with the magic of email, and Pro-tools. The name “Distant Circus” comes from an earlier project the two shared, called Three Ring Circus, plus the fact of the long distance between where Rich and Chris lived. Rich has since moved back to Little Rock, and the music project has continued in earnest. Distant Circus is all about the structuring music and the escape from reality it brings.
