Details:
A native of Beckley, West Virginia, Greg Moore knows the importance of knowing yourself and remembering where you heart is. Greg, also known as G-Mo, is working on his debut rap/hip-hop album, “Take It or Leave It”, produced by Light the Way Productions.

The album’s title shines a light on G-Mo’s approach to his life and music. “Well, the fact that it’s my first album… I’m not necessarily expecting everybody to, ya know, cling to it, “G-Mo said in an interview. “If you like it, you like it. And if you don’t, you don’t. But I’m still going to be me.”

And G-Mo knows exactly who is he and who he has to thank for helping him become well on his way to a successful music career. He figured out that he wanted to be a rap/hip-hop artist when he was 13, around the same time he returned to his native state after having lived in Detroit, Michigan for a time.

“When I first started off … I was kinda shy, just trying to find myself.” G-Mo said. “I pretty much came out of my shell when I got back to Beckley.”

In his own way, G-Mo seems to be thanking the community of Beckley for helping him come out of his shell to pursue his dreams. He has included a number of his lifelong friends and family from Beckley in the production of “Take It or Leave It.”

“Well, in a sense, a lot of people don’t get exposure from Beckley,” G-Mo said. “I was pretty much trying to get everybody involved, to help people, and get everybody a little exposure.”

While G-Mo has been inspired by other artists, such as Eminem, he is creating a sound of his own. He describes his music style as “somewhat inspirational, but then again, something with a little swagger to it.” His favorite track on the album, “Ridin’ for Life” inspires a laid-back attitude but is still something listeners will want to pump up while in their cars. “It’s one of those songs that will put you in a mood that I like” G-Mo said. “Ya know, you can sit back on a late night and drive, pump it in your car, lookin’ at the stars.”

After “Take It or Leave It” comes out, G-Mo plans to continue promoting his debut CD and hopes to perform locally in clubs. He also hopes to go to college at West Virginia University to study business so that he can get a better understanding of the music business.

All the hard-work he has done and continues to do for his life-long dream is bringing G-Mo some great opportunities. Although he is meeting with some great success, he knows the importance of keeping your heart open and keeping your loved ones in mind.

“I love you, Ma” G-Mo added in an interview, saying that she was a big influence in his life.

Lastly, G-Mo tells his fans “Follow your dreams.” G-Mo certainly has done that, all the while remembering his friend, family, and his home of Beckley.
