Across generations they are being compared to Tegan & Sara meets the Indigo Girls although they are distinctly different than both of these duos.
At a very young age artists like Hilary Duff, Christina Aguilera and The Spice Girls inspired both girls to take piano and voice lessons. Now their inspiration comes from bands like The Beatles, Tegan & Sara, Death Cab for Cutie, Anna Nalick, KT Tunstall, The New Pornographers, Regina Spektor, Coldplay and many more.
They met each other as new 6th grade students at a Seattle-area middle school in 2005. The foundation for their friendship was built upon their shared love of music and history of piano and voice lessons. It was at this time that they declared they would someday make music together.
In May of 2008 the girls were given the opportunity to perform a song at their upcoming graduation. In two weeks time, they wrote, rehearsed and performed their first song for their graduating class. They were a roaring success and received a standing ovation from the audience! In this moment, VerleeRose was born.
In July a studio recording for a demo was offered to them if they could produce 3 songs by the end of the summer. In September of 2008 they started recording and finished in December with 9 original tracks. These songs plus two remixes were released on March 8, 2009 as their debut full length CD titled, These Moments.
With an incredible amount of hard work and determination, VerleeRose has achieved a great deal of success in a very short amount of time. They are now performing on a regular basis at some of the hottest venues around the Puget Sound.
