Rick Wilkins has over thirty years of experience in the music and recording industry. In “Still Life”, Rick composed, accompanied, and sang each song. It is obvious that he is a talented and versatile performer. A native of Shenandoah County, Virginia, Rick has uniquely expressed our national heritage and spirit. In “Tower Road,” we are reminded that simplicity has a special value which cannot be replaced by any amount of sophistication or pretense. The song, “Still Life”, with its lilting style, challenges us never to give up and to respect life and its gifts. “Oh why?” asks questions that are familiar to all who have survived to a certain age in their own life journey.
Rick spends most of his time close to home these days; but his resume includes appearances on the Grand Ol’ Opry, in Las Vegas, and at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. During Operation Desert Storm, Rick traveled to the Persian Gulf to entertain the troops. Son of a WWII veteran, Rick regards this tour as a personal highlight of his career. He has also appeared with such well-known personalities as Razzy Bailey, Gilbert McListon, and Doby Grey.
Now it’s Rick’s turn to take center stage and share his love of music and our country with us.
Wilkins is the sound engineer for The Opera House at New Market in New Market, VA, where his newest CD was recorded and produced.
