Songs derived from classroom content in schools in Nagoya, Istanbul, Shanghai and Yanbu Saudi Arabia. I would ask the kids what they were studying, we would make a big chalkboard list and search for meaningful rhymes to develop a poem that I would then put to music. It reinforced what they had learned and made for great classroom fun. Annual theme parties developed around issues such as the study of pirates, whales, plant life and the life cycle of the frog.
