17 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Progressive Rock, NEW AGE: New Age
Details:
Mark has played hundreds shows throughout the Southeastern United States, as a solo artist and as lead vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist for the popular SC progressive rock band Avant Garde. Avant Garde covered a wide variety of artists such as Kings X, The Beatles, Utopia, Black Crowes, Prince, Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails, Queensryche, Police etc. but also performed songs from Mark''s first solo album "Seasons of Ice".
"Seasons of Ice" sold moderately well and spawned favorites that were requested at AG shows and Mark''s solo gigs.
Mark''s solo acoustic renditions covered the standard Eagles, Dan Fogelberg and Zeppelin fare but often strayed off the beaten path and turned heads when taking on songs by Todd Rundgren, Yes, Genesis, Steve Hackett, David Gilmour, Dream Theater, Rush, Kansas, Steve Hillage, Sting, Splender and many of the designated prog rock groups of the day. This album is a convergence of all the above influences and styles as well as Mark''s original spin on things.
The album is mostly Mark with some help here and there from some great musicians including Avant Garde drummer/vocalist Chris Davis (currently of Pseudo Solomon) and ICR Records recording artist Danny McMahon.
If you want something fresh and different,
if you like any of the above artists, like different instruments such as sitar, tabla drums as well as the obligatory prog rock keyboards and guitar stylings with beatlesque vocals here and there then be sure to check out what Echoes of Oblivion has to offer.
Mark is based in Charlotte, NC
