Details:
The Neckers are the only rock ''n roll band from Calgary, Alberta. The ladies woo and the boys don''t know what to do. This garage-punk affair will likely remind you of some of those good ''ol British Invasion bands mixed with some 70''s punk influence and shit. - This CD is the most important CD you will ever hear all day!

• The Neckers new full length CD came out on October 30th 2004 and features 11 songs, including 9 originals that they recorded in their buddy''s basement. Cameos include Lorrie Matheson on keys, Whitey Kirst (of the Iggy Pop band) on guitar on Have Love Will Travel, Cam Hayden (Cripple Creek Fairies) on a vocal and Shayne Arnold (Hip City Blues Combo) on slide guitar. The CD was released on Sloth Records and will be distributed through Sonic Unyon and Scratch Distribution.
• What is the attraction? First and foremost it''s the band''s enthusiasm towards the music they play. It is evident to anyone who has seen their live show that these boys are in love with rock ''n roll. The songs are full of big beats and catchy melodies, all taken over the top by a singer who could easily be the love-child of Screamin'' Jay Hawkins and The Tasmanian Devil.
• The line up consists of; Bil Hetherington (vox and harmonica), Brendan Tincher (drums, back up vox), Jim Blood (guitar) and, Steve Elaschuk (bass). You might know Steve from such fantastic Calgary bands as Wagbeard, Earthquake Pills, The Daggers, and Field Day.
• The Neckers have been proud to share the stage with such notable acts as Danko Jones, Gob, Sloan, DOA, Chixdiggit, The Von Zippers, Bob Log III, Immortal Lee County Killers and The Black Halos whose lead singer, Billy Hopeless, declared The Neckers to be his favorite Calgary band.
• As far as back catalogue, the band released an 8 song EP in 2001 that was welcomed with rave reviews and shot to the top ten on many Alberta charts. They also contributed 3 songs to the Catch and Release Records Southern Invasion compilation. Exclaim Magazine ranked the comp as #28 in the year''s top 100 releases in 2000. Both CD''s have national distribution through Sonic Unyon via Catch and Release Recording Collective.
