Details:
So what''s this CD all about anyway? What inspires 2 old friends to collaborate on an Alternative Rock CD? Is it even considered Alternative music anymore? Back in the eighties I called it Mod Rock or Neo Psychedelic cause Alt covered too many things. So that sound for me always had guitars, heavy guitars, heavy vocals, strong melodic riffs and pounding drums. Maybe it''s because I grew up on stuff like Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Led Zeppelin, that means guitars to me. It also means they had something to say and they meant it and lived it. Enter the New Millennium, and what''s out there now? Perfectly packaged Punk Rock Pop that could never take the place of moshing to the Ramones live at the Malibu in Long Beach New York. I guess I''m a little stubborn and that older alternative eighties and early nineties sound still haunts my soul. Maybe its the energy of the songs, what they said, what they meant, how I felt when I listened to them or how they made me feel? Which brings us to this CD Elemental Needs. Maybe I tried to capture those similar sounds and feelings but in or own way. The lyrics are meaningful yet still open to objectivity and personal reflection. The songs all say something in a way that matches the sound and performance with the feelings of the song. If we did not feel it, live it, or be angered by it, we could not play it. That''s just the way we are. We live for the feel....how about you?

Outer Child was formed in 2004 by 2 old lifelong buddies that use to work at a Rocket Ranch. After conquering the universe with high technology they finally came to the realization that all that really mattered was music.

Rich Surace''s Bio:
Having been raised on music its always been a part of my life. I have always felt the emotion and power of the guitar. I studied guitar as a youngster playing mostly folk music. Had a dimestore electric with an amp that sounded horrible and pretty much gave it up during my high school days as my life turned to skateboarding and surfing. Being a true music lover and always yearning to be creative it was only a matter of time that the guitar would come back into my life. I''m so glad it did.

James Mehl''s Bio:
As a self-proclaimed music-lover, James Mehl has had his hand in the "music jar" since the age of eight when he procured his first toy "drum set" constructed primarily of cardboard. "After destroying that, I moved on to acoustic guitar and played in the church ensemble. But I still didn''t find my niche, musically, until a friend needed a bass player in his band when I was about seventeen. He had this old left-handed "Hondo" Fender-copy and I turned it upside down and re-strung it. From there, I never looked back. The bass was my instrument. I could make melody and be percussive." says James. James has played in countless original bands over the last twenty years in many styles of popular music: rock, jazz, funk, punk, reggae, blues, and many styles in between.
