Since 1989, guitarist/singer/songwriter Alex Wise has shuttled between his hometown of New Orleans, San Francisco, Boston and Tokyo, developing musical projects such as A. Wise Groove, Sweet Al & Friends, and Simple Twist. A longtime student of Japanese language and musical culture, Alex''s style incorporates a wide-range of acoustic music, jazz, funk and rock.

Charlie Vestner has been playing drums ever since 4th grade, when Mr. Lushevsky kicked him out of the marching band because he couldn''t keep "ze beat." His music career took off in high school when he joined the popular jam band High Time. Since then, Charlie has played with several bands in New York City and San Francisco, including alt country band Buckeye.

Mark Yeary (bass, vocals) is a versatile musician who''s always happy to be on stage; Mark dabbled in piano and guitar in grade school before finding his true voice on the bass. Mark moves effortlessly between musical genres, from noise pop on the Sunset Strip to jazz in Golden Gate Park, providing the musical foundation with fluid, blossoming bass. Born in the yuppie mecca of Walnut Creek, Mark would like to save whales off the coast of Iceland, or maybe sell used cars in Los Angeles.

Trumpeter Mike Kobrin has attacked the Bay Area music scene from many angles: musical theater, funk, soul, jazz, blues, and of course, marching bands. Originally from New York City, Mike has been building his repertoire of sounds and styles with the goal of never sounding like the next guy.

A classical and jazz musician, Steve Perella has been playing saxophone for 15 years. Steve is also interested in sound recording and composition, which he recently studied while completing a master''s degree from the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics at Stanford University. The Shreep represents his first venture into the world of funk music.

Emery Dora is a first-call keyboard player for Bay Area jam bands, including Tree O'' Frogs and 008. In addition to playing with The Shreep, he also currently plays with Chris Rossbach, guitarist for Zigaboo Modeliste.

Members of The Shreep have shared the stage with such bands as Karl Denson''s Tiny Universe, Galactic, Wilco, Phil Lesh & Friends, Maceo Parker, George Porter Jr., funky Meters, Indigo Swing, the Coup, Will Bernard & Motherbug, Fareed Haque, Train, Derek Trucks Band, Les Claypool''s Flying Frog Brigade, Zigaboo Modeliste, John Mooney and Bluesiana, Buckwheat Zydeco, the Wild Magnolias, KVHW, Mofro, and Sound Tribe Sector Nine, among others.
