he began playing the guitar at 8 years old after his parents noticed him pretending to play one using a broom. since his mother needed it to sweep the floor, they figured getting a real one would solve that problem.
being raised in nearby flint, mich., in a christian home. little ronnieo''s ability on the guitar grew as his fingers grew. having no formal training, he developed an ear for music.
his musical influences growing up were gospel of course, the motown sound, blues and jazz. but flint''s lone black radio station was off the air at sundown. so he would tune to the 24hr. white stations, which expanded his influences to include rock, pop, country, easy listening and even classical.
"as is" is ronnieo''s debut on the music scene. in listening to this album, you''ll find all these influences interwoven throughout.
