Shadiya is a broad-based artist who brings a sound that is a mixture of old school soul and new Neo-Soul attitude. She is an astonishing vocalist, songwriter, and producer, who more than holds her own in each category.
Her love of singing was inspired by such as Roberta Flack, Diana Ross, Billie Holiday, and many more. Her smooth and clear vocal style, albeit her own, has been compared to Erykah Badu, Sade, and Chante Moore.
Currently living in Connecticut, Shadiya stays active in the local music scene and has extended her credits to include performances in musical theater such as in the Off-Broadway plays "Loving'' the Blues" and "Marginal Saints" . In addition to her theatrical background, she has also appeared in several television commercials and programs two of which were for AT&T and Comedy Central''s "The Upright Citizen''s Brigade". Shadiya''s creative skills span from lyricist and jingle writing to the writer of original children stories.
