Bio: Shirley Melger
I grew up in a big family, where the house was daily filled with musical sounds. Coming from brothers and sisters who were making music and mom who played piano.
I began to discover that spending time on music in an active way, was very pleasant to do. So I gathered experience in some secular bands. For the musical development very good and ofcourse there was great fun.
Until THE day came that God showed me where He really wanted to place me, to bring me to my destination.
And from the moment I began to sing about the message of God, music has so more depth for me and the most important thing: my relationship with God became so much closer, by seeing and learning more about Lord Jesus.
Music is ‘just’ a tool (but a strong one) that is very useful to God.
The Bible also shows us how important music is to honour God.
God learns me every single day what it means, to be faithful to Him, out of a heart of love, worship & obedience to Him. In the middle of the mistakes, which I make enough as a human being too! and doing stupid things.
But in the sacrifice of Love that God gave us by what His son Jesus did for us on the Cross, there always lies a brand new day!
Ëvery opportunity that God brings on my path to tell and sing about His love for us and Jesus’ message for this world, I will receive with both hands. I do that for Him and hope and pray that it may be a blessing for others.
In 2008 I released my first solo-album named “I’m ready”. And with that title I’m refering to the first song I had recorded, “People get ready” from Curtis Mayfield and…..to the moment God made me truly aware of the fact that if you sing about the Gospel and want to spread the Good News, it only works if you really have deceided to give your heart to Jesus and be committed to Him and if you’re prepared to put His plan for you under His leadership. Only then it will bring fruit into the world.
That is what God is asking me: that I totally put my trust in Him. About everything. And that I learn more and more to stand on His Word, His Promise.
The Cd includes songs in different musical styles. Hope that the message in every song will reach your heart Have fun with it anyway!
