Nashville’s best kept secret. Sonny was born and lived his early years in Indiana. It is there that he fell in love with music. His grandfather would host an annual bluegrass festival and taught him how to play guitar. Sonny even had the chance to dance a little jig on stage with the late great Bill Monroe. Sonny’s family moved out west to a small town in the mountains of Washington called Kettle Falls. Sonny was instantly captivated by Bob Dylan the first time he heard Like a Rolling Stone on a soundtrack of a movie he was watching on the family T.V. That was enough to spark his interest in writing. Sonny picked up and moved to Nashville in 95. Sonny is well respected by the music community as a great writer. His heartfelt lyrics open up a vulnerability that is enjoyed and shared by all who can relate to them through their own heartbreaks and trials of life. Coupled with incredible arrangements, melodies and a unique delivery, his sound is set apart from the usual songwriters. His eclectic taste puts his music somewhere between his roots of bluegrass, folk and older rock and roll like The Stones or Tom Petty and great songwriters like Bob Dylan and Gram Parsons.
