Stone Cat was formed in October of 2002 and released their
first demo in March of 2003. The groups
persistence and incredibly supportive fan base has led to
their first commercial release.
Mark Johnson and Jeff Seymore, long-time friends, decided
to form Stone Cat while "on the road" touring with
a small label act. Unhappy with the conditions of this
group (amateur songwriting, over-inflated ego''s, etc.),
Mark and Jeff formed what they thought to be the ultimate
musical experiment to fulfill their innermost love for
music. "The only way we could truly express ourselves
musically and be happy at the same time, was to break
free of those chains and start writing from our souls....
which is exactly what we''ve done and what we are
doing," says Mark Johnson (Band Leader). "You cannot
express yourself if you are bound by corporate chains.
It''s been one of life''s greatest lessons."
Having spent over a year and a half writing and
performing, Stone Cat has grown into a creative musical
machine firing on all cylinders. Niki''s rich vocals have
ripened in both strength and maturity, as have Mark''s
exuberant song arrangements and guitar parts. Binding
these elements is bassist Jeff Seymore and drummer
Chad Dalton, the propulsive rhythm section.... the
energetic driving force behind Stone Cat.
