I hope you like this CD. Some of my songs are autobiographical, some are written through the eyes of others, and some I just make up. I''ve been influenced by a lot of different musicians and bands (the Beatles, the Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Isaak ("Forever Blue"), Elliot Smith ("Figure 8"), ELVIS, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews, Radiohead, etc.), but this is my own sound. These are my own words. Listen to the CD. See for yourself. If you don''t like this one, maybe you''ll like my previous cd, "Smile About The Past", or my new one, "Venting My Spleen".

Here are some words from the song "Sand Castle":

...
a child''s eyes
created this moat
filled it with water
and a plastic boat
I walk past this image
it will soon fade into sea
wish upon a star
to be so free.

Here are some from "Positive Thinking":

I woke up positive
positive, I thought
I got a bad deal
on that castle that I bought.
that was no queen
that was no throne
I''ll add it to the list
of the things I should have known.

was that really me in that tragedy?
I think I find the odd a neccessity
oh, I believe in positive thinking,
take away that potion she''s been drinking...

Here''s a few lines from "Maybe He Does":

...
well, I''ve been burdened by love
been confused by the priest
he seems like such a nice guy
but he''s not my father in the least,
so there, I am no saint
no carbon copy Billy Graham
the building fund wants my money
but God doesn''t want me to pay em,
or maybe He does, maybe He does.

And, from "Once":

once, upon a girl
upon a trail, upon a rock
my head began to twirl
there was rustling, and then a shock

...
once, there was a gun
laid on a rock, upon a trail
belly crawling men,
began to run as bullets hailed.

And, from my the oft forgotten "Bone":

...
I can''t tell you
you''ll have to learn on your own
the truth, can be beautiful
or it can cut you
to the bone.

...
when you''re laughing like a fool
when your seeds are being sown
you think it''ll last forever
then you''re cut
to the bone.

...
I can''t tell you,
the ice cream will fall out of the cone
one minute, you''re a happy child
then you''re cut
to the bone.
