The Pop Rocks formed in June 2008 as one of the bands of The Summer Rock Shop program at The Davis School of Guitar Performance. They quickly became a strong group and a crowd favorite. The Pop Rocks have since continued on, working out challenging music, increasing their set list and polishing their performance.
During the Pittsburgh Steeler playoff run, The Pop Rocks recorded a video of
themselves singing a" Steelerized" version of "Heartbreaker" and posted it on youtube. They have currently received over 700,000 views on youtube of their Steelers Song "Heartbreakers" and have performed at the WDVE 102.5 Morning Show Steeler send off party at Club Diesel in the south side. The live performance of the song is now getting regular air-play in support of The Steelers.
The Pop Rocks are not only talented young musicians who enjoy making music together, they are a group of friends who enjoy just hanging out with each other as well. Keep an eye on them. They are going somewhere. Be sure to watch their videos and leave some comments.
