Hardymuse Productions is pleased to announce the release of String Theory, a new album of completely improvised piano music from Glenn Hardy. This album features Glenn drawing simultaneously on three of the great wellsprings of western music: American blues, jazz, and European classical music. For some time now, he has been calling his piano music “contemporary hybrid,” for lack of a more clearly defined category. While purists may object to the “contamination” of traditional art forms by mixing them with each other, Glenn believes that this mixing is precisely what is needed to insure the continued vitality of all three of these cherished musical styles. He stresses that “this music is not a forced or contrived “fusion” of different elements for the purpose of creating something new…” but rather the spontaneous “re-imagining of all the various kinds of music I have experienced since childhood.”
