Elements Crashing is a solo artist/metal-rock band that was formed in late 2000 by Elmore, Ohio musician Jason Tingley. After playing drums for several years in local bands, Tingley grew bored with the repetitive, and "one dimensional" nature of being just a drummer. In the summer of 2000, when his current band ran its course, Tingley pursued new interests in learning to play the guitar, and writing lyrics. He began writing his own material with a louder and more raw approach than his previous projects. Remaining close to the members of his previous band, Tingley sought the help of the former bands guitar player and frontman to oversee the recordings, and assist with the musical development in what would become a 7 song self-titled EP released in April of 2002. With a strong desire to play his new material live, Tingley once again turned to his friends and former bandmates to try to piece together a “live” version of his latest band. This version of “Elements Crashing” enjoyed a short lived tenure in the Toledo, Ohio music scene, but managed to gain a loyal following. The band became noted for their energetic, and intense live performances, as well as their use of a drum machine as opposed to the traditional live drummer. After a handful of shows the live band disbanded, and Tingley continued Elements Crashing as a "studio solo project". Over the next couple of years he would continue to write and record demo’s that would never be released, but assisted in furthering the bands direction, and musical development. In April 2007, Jason began to write and demo new material that would become the bands 2009 release "3 Layers...". The band (with an updated live line-up) is currently gearing up for another slew of live shows for the spring/summer of 2009, as well as preparing to shoot a video for the song "Redefined" in support of "3 Layers...". Writing has also begun on E.C.''s next record which Tingley is expecting to release in late 2010.
