Ricardo Malone was born and raised in East St. Louis, ILL. The oldest of eight born to the late Roosevelt Malone Sr. and the late Mary L. Malone. He is married to Jacquelyn Wheatley-Malone; they share 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Ricardo’s roots in music started in the Baptist church where he enjoyed singing in the various choirs as a young child.
As a young man he sang in various R & B vocal groups before he co-founded the R & B group Gateway Experience in the early 80’s. A popular local group in the St. Louis, MO area, they enjoyed great local success but never were able to land a major record deal. Several years has passed with a lot of up’s and down’s, but by the grace of God Ricardo’s life as taken a remarkable turn.
You would have to read his book “Experiences A Journey Out of Darkness” to really understand what he has been through. Ricardo’s CD Songs From A Journey is truly a living testament about the awesome power of God. He is a poet, author, entrepreneur and a great songwriter and producer who is looking forward to working with other Gospel artists.
Ricardo is the President and CEO of Seeing Light Productions, a music production company, formed with his wife Jackie, which is located in Miramar, FL, where they reside.
