Details:
Brazilian-born British artist Charlson Ximenes (pronounced she-men-es) started playing the clarinet and the saxophone when he was 9 years old, and by the age of 14 he was playing both the saxophone and the guitar professionally.
At 18 he recorded the album Tora Tora Tora and a limited edition tape called Feito nas Coxas with Brazilian experimental band Esquadrlha da FumaÇa. He then had the opportunity to play with some great Brazilian and Latin-american artists, until he moved to Europe and formed Rock group Deja Vu in London, releasing the singles Black Angel and Love Me Tonite.
Charlson''s relentless enthusiasm for musical diversity got him involved in various recording projects including co-productions and live performances with different artists of varied musical styles.
For his debut solo album he teamed up with Deja Vu band-mate David Etheridge and the result of this collaboration is the CD Collision Course.
PUBLIC RESPONSE:
The songs "Scanning The Sky" and "Say You Need Me" reached numbers 3 and 5, respectively, in the UK-Sounds Chart and "Don''t Believe Your Eyes" continues to be a favourite amongst many radio station listeners worldwide.
A follow-up album is currently on the making.
