“Room Keys” was primarily recorded in hotel rooms across North America in 2008. While on tour with other artists, Uh used his spare time to record most of the tracks and did the editing on long bus rides. It includes 7 originals and 3 covers, including “It’s Over,” “Should I Love You” and “This Guy’s In Love With You.”
“This release differs from ‘HEHHEH,’” according to Uh. “An organic approach was used this time. There are more live instruments - acoustic guitar, percussion, live drums, bass and keyboards on some of the songs. I had a goal to abandon this by the end of January 2009, which forced me to get things right the first time.”
Other artists featured in this release are the legendary James Gadson, who played drums on “Walking Down Newland” and Damien Erwin on V-Drums, Percussion and Guitar on several tracks.
Final touches on the mixing were performed at Eneonycity in Los Angeles.
Mastering was done at Abbey Road Studios, London.
